Raised to educate and elevate
Dr. Rigel Smart was born in Turlock and raised in the Modesto area. Growing up with two local teachers as parents, he was inspired early in life to help educate and elevate his community, an instinct that now shapes every appointment he leads.
After graduating from Central Valley High School in Ceres, Dr. Smart studied at UC Santa Cruz, graduating Magna Cum Laude with highest honors in Literature. He then attended the University of the Pacific's Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, an esteemed program where he learned modern dental techniques and patient-centered, comfort-focused care.
Now happily back in the Central Valley, Dr. Smart treats patients of all walks of life with warmth and compassion. He practices conservative dentistry, an approach that prioritizes early prevention of disease while minimizing invasive treatment. His goal for every visit: comfortable, informative, and empowering, so patients can take control of their own oral and overall health.
Outside the office, Dr. Smart's favorite hobby is playing the drums, a musical journey he began with lessons right here in Turlock. Beyond music, he has a passion for the outdoors and finds joy surrounded by his many pets and plants.
